The General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs announced the Gulf Family Forum, themed "A Stable Family in a Changing World," which was held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

The forum was attended by stakeholders concerned with family affairs and commenced with an official opening address. Her Excellency Dr. Amthal Al-Huwayla, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood, delivered a speech. His Excellency Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, also delivered an opening address. Additionally, Ms. Nouria Al-Omairi and Dr. Sharifa Al-Drees, representing the Kuwait Association for Learning Differences (KALD), were present, reflecting the association's commitment to strengthening its role in supporting family stability and empowerment.

The opening session included a visual presentation addressing the role of the family and family cohesion in the GCC countries. This was followed by dialogue sessions that discussed working papers submitted by various member states (the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait). These sessions focused on the forum's main themes:

• Empowering families with special needs, including families of people with disabilities, single-parent families, and families in need.

• Enhancing family stability through legal legislation and social programs, with a focus on premarital programs, strengthening the role of media, and empowering young men and women preparing for marriage.

• Addressing the digital challenges facing the Gulf family through the educational and social role of the family in protecting children and ways to promote positive values ​​in light of digital transformations and artificial intelligence.

• The forum concluded with recommendations aimed at supporting the stability of the Gulf family and strengthening its position as a fundamental building block for community development and addressing evolving challenges.
