KALD 5th Persevering Student Award 2025/2026

For the fifth consecutive year, the Kuwait Association for Learning Differences (KALD) celebrated its “KALD” Award for the Persevering Student for the 2025-2026 academic year. The ceremony was held under the generous patronage of the National Bank of Kuwait Group in the bank’s main auditorium.

This year’s award was organized despite the challenges, exceptional circumstances, and security situation the country has faced. The association believes in the importance of continuing to support students and their families, and to foster a spirit of hope and perseverance. During the crisis, the association also launched the “Safe Space” program, specifically designed to provide psychological and social support to students and their parents, assisting them during this period.

The association honored a group of students with learning differences who not only demonstrated academic excellence but also demonstrated perseverance and determination to learn despite difficulties. This recognition was in appreciation of their significant efforts and their ability to overcome educational challenges with confidence and positivity. The ceremony was attended by a number of prominent figures, including Ms. Manal Al-Matar, Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications at the National Bank of Kuwait; Ms. Amal Al-Sayer, Chairperson of the Kuwait Association for Learning Differences; and Mr. Faisal Hamad Al-Ayyar, Honorary President of the Association. Also present were the supporting sponsors: Dr. Adel Al-Yousifi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Issa Hussein Al-Yousifi & Sons Company; Mr. Barak Al-Ali, representative of Ola Educational Platform Company; and Ms. Shafika Ali Abdul Wahab, Founder and President of the Al-Yanabi’ Al-Jariyah Project, as well as members of the Association’s Board of Directors and the Award’s Board of Trustees.

The ceremony included the screening of a music video composed and written by the national poet, Mr. Jamal Ahmed Al-Sayer. Thuraya Al-Majed, a student participating in the award, recited a poem expressing peace and love for her country. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative trophies to the winning students in the presence of school representatives and parents, celebrating their perseverance and success throughout the academic year. In her speech at the ceremony, Al-Sayer emphasized that this recognition underscores the importance of social responsibility in supporting civil society's efforts to serve the community.

She also noted that the award carries a message of appreciation and encouragement for every student facing learning challenges and differences, reflecting the community's belief in the importance of empowering students and providing them with opportunities and a supportive environment that helps them persevere and achieve success.
